April 19.2010 - Parmand Telecom - Discussion with the Mobile Company of Iran to renew the contract to manufacture equipment for six million mobile phone lines is currently under way, Iran Telecommunication Manufacturing Companies managing director announced.

"The production is in progress and is expanding gradually," Ebrahim Mottale told Mobna news agency.

"Production of Hi-tech equipment is a hard, complicated and quite worthy process which is seldom possible in a prescribed period of time, and MCI, as the project commissioner, is quite aware of the difficulties the project has to overcome," he added.

The project started in April 2007 with a 1,680 billion rials fund and was due to end in 18 months' time which evidently it has not.
