August 14.2010 - Parmand Telecom - ISP Companies' association has formally objected to the 6-fold charge increase for using E1 links.

According to the latest published figures, more than 90% of subscribers, especially those in deprived areas, still use the outmoded dial-up service but are being charged 6 times that of previous rate.

The association has urged all ISP companies to avoid signing new contracts based on new disputed rates until their complaint has been reviewed by the authorities, while expecting the Telecommunication Company of Iran to withhold such increases until a final decision by the authorities has been made.
