August 25.2010 - Parmand Telecom - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has inaugurated 28 key electronic and telecommunication projects as the Government Week enters its fourth day.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the projects on Tuesday, General Vahidi said the projects include satellite modules, HF (Hands Free) wireless communication systems, fiber optic equipment, omnidicrectional HF antennas and cellular network technologies.

The Iranian official further added that the ministry's electronic industry manufactures a wide range of smart, efficient and state-of-the-art products.

General Vahidi noted that the projects are of great importance, saying "efforts for networking and achieving commanding system were materialized in the projects."

The defense chief inaugurated the production lines of two domestically-built high-speed vessels Seraj and Zolfaghar on Monday.

The new generation of the Zolfaghar vessel has been designed to conduct immediate strikes on enemy ships.

Iran had already announced that it intends to mass-produce improved models of the Zolfaghar.

The Iranian vessel is capable of launching missiles, and sailing at a speed of 70 knots (82 mph).

The Zolfaghar can operate in an average wave height of 1.21 meters while its missiles will effectively work at a height of 1.25 meters.
