September 13.2010 - Parmand Telecom - Tehran Province Telecommunication Company's managing director has announced there would be a landline to mobile sms service from October.

"The landline to landline sms service via computer started last year but most subscribers are interested in landline to mobile service or visa-a-versa and for that reason TPTC and the Mobile Company of Iran have reached a preliminary agreement," Mohammad Ruhollahi told Mobna news agency.

He said the agreement would extend to other mobile operators if the scheme proved successful. "The service does not require a special receiver since it is assisted by new software developed by TPTC," he added.
He said last year's landline to landline service was not halted only for financial reasons.
